1st National Undergraduate and Graduate Conference on English Language and Literature – “Language, Literature and the Human!”

The Department of English Language and Literature will host the 1st National Undergraduate and Graduate Conference on English Language and Literature with the theme “Language, Literature and the Human!”, to be held online between 14–16 May 2026.

This academic event aims to provide an engaging platform for critical thinking and research exchange by focusing on the multidimensional relationships among language, literature, and the human being. Language serves as a medium of thought and expression, while literature represents the aesthetic embodiment of that expression, situating humanity both as subject and object of study.

Within the scope of this year’s theme, participants are invited to submit original works addressing a wide range of topics from the influence of language on identity and belonging to the ways in which literature reflects and reconstructs human experience.

Suggested Topics (including but not limited to):

• The relationship between language, literature, and the human

• Literature as an expression of human experience

• Language and identity

• Postcolonial literatures, migration, and belonging

• Translation, culture, and human interaction

• Representations of the human in modern and contemporary English literatures

Participation and Abstract Submission Guidelines:

• The conference is open to undergraduate and graduate students.

• Abstracts should be between 200–250 words.

• Participants are required to send their abstracts, short biographies, and institutional information to bingolellconference@gmail.com.

• Abstract Submission Deadline: 14 March 2026

• Notification of Acceptance: 27 March 2026
